Run for the Roses

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to receive a piece of Fine art by Deann of Deann Designs. This painting is called Run for the Roses...and you can find details HERE.

I had so much fun moving the piece from room to room, finding my favorite spot for it to reside.

It was a little too large to place on my mantle, measuring in at 36x36…but looks pretty perfect sitting in front of the fireplace during the hot months of the year. And did you notice the gorgeous colors in this painting? The prettiest grays, whites & creams, with a touch of teal & turquoise that really looks amazing paired with my chippy wooden cabinet.

Wondering how it would look in our family room, I leaned it against the wall behind one of the white sofas, on the sofa table. It makes a statement, alright! The colors just pop against all the white. And there is just a slight hint of a pink swish down in one of the roses, that made it look right at home with pink hydrangeas! Of course, the blue striped grain sack pillows, seltzer bottles and barn door tie it all together. I think it was created for this space!

And, you may remember last month, when I shared Our Spring Bedroom Makeover HERE, where I first shared the gorgeous roses painting. Our walls in the room are Silver Drop by BEHR, and make a nice backdrop for the painting.

  3. Oh Becky - Deanna is such an amazing artist - just WOW!

And that piece looks great in every instance you had it - hard pressed to pick a favorite - but I'd have to say the bedroom is just a teensy bit more perfect. This is perfect art for your awesome home!

  4. This painting is so pretty. I love how you showed it in various areas until you found the right spot. This is my second or third time checking out your blog and I am loving the simple beautiful home you have. But I have been following along on Instagram for a while now.

  5. OH yes! I love her work, all the years I had been painting from walls to wood, art plays and active roll in how ones home lives....I love the piece in Your front room, and placed infront of the fireplace surround. It's pieces like these that can just layer and tick behind so many places due to its scale. I love that the canvas picks up the tones you use in your home.

Years ago I started painting on wood paneling due to a client wanting a fireplace screen. I loved the effect and have chosen to,paint more often then not on wood, rustic and old world.
This piece fits your home perfectly. And what a farmhouse statement piece indeed.

    Xx
    See you soon.

  6. It looks great in all the rooms. I loved it most in the living room because it was leaning on the wall gave it a very relaxed feeling. On the bedroom wall even though the colours are amazing I thought it was a little to high...now I'm not sure if this is the case or if at the present moment I'm liking paintings to be lower. Your home is beautiful and I loved how you showed this 'trying different positions. I also loved painting in front of fire place...what a great idea! Thanks for sharing..this is first time on your blog :-)

  8. The painting is beautiful in any of your rooms. How fun that it is so versatile and you can move it. I like it in the bedroom the best. It looks so pretty above the dresser.
