A "Thing" for Scales

Hey my friends!
I hope you are having a wonderful start to a brand new week!
Today I want to share with you my new favorite flea market find :)

Antique Detroit Automatic Scales

If you have been around a while, you may know Mr. Buckets of Burlap
has a "thing" for vintage scales.
What you may not know is, he has a birthday in June :)

So, on our recent "birthday" trip to Canton Trade Days,
he spotted this old Detroit Automatic Grocery Scale...
just as we were leaving.
It was a STEAL, I tell you, a STEAL.

It has very unique, ornate features and stands pretty tall,
so it had to have a corner of it's own.
Take a look at it's backside, too:

I moved our hutch out of the kitchen,
then placed my old chippy green door behind it, for a little backdrop.

Mr. BofB has an eye for scales, the older the better.
This one's patented in 1903.

It still needs a real good scrubbing around the base.
But I couldn't wait to show you.

It's definitely our favorite scale in the house.
Happy Birthday Mr. Buckets of Burlap!  He's a really great guy ;)

Soon, I'll show you a few other flea market finds we came across.
I am sharing over at Tuesdays Treasures with Kristin :)

I'd like to thank my new followers for joining in!
I appreciate everyone for visiting!
Have a great week :)
Blessings,
Becky C
