Or should I just call this post a “Mother’s Day Table”? I don’t know why I used the word BRUNCH, except that it sounds kinda fancy, doesn’t it?
I wanted to create a simple, Spring-inspired Mother’s Day table…perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Making the MOM in your life feel special is what it’s all about, right?
Keeping a table setting simple is always my main focus. So, I started with a vintage hemp linen table runner, and added place settings of china and ironstone mixed. The gorgeous white linen napkins are from Rough Linen, and are my favorite! Keeping with a neutral color palette, I added pops of color with the fresh flowers.
The pretty white pillar candles are part of our candle line, hand-poured by the sweetest couple in Texas. The white ones are named Shiplap, with the fragrance of White Ginger. They smell amazing, a subtle sweet scent…and will be available in our online shop (opening soon).
My favorite little detail on this table is the tiny vintage juice glasses. I used them as vases for pink hydrangeas at each place setting. Notice the variation of colors in the hydrangeas…and they came from the same bush! That’s another reason why I adore fresh flowers.
So, let’s talk about Mother’s day…if I’m honest, it’s not really my favorite. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer in 2009. So, as you can guess, I don’t look forward to Mother’s day without her. However, I’m a firm believer in being thankful for my blessings. And I have three wonderful kids who still have their mom! I also have several ladies in my life who support and love me like crazy. I’m blessed to be a mom, and I do not take that for granted. And to all of you ladies out there who are heartbroken around Mother’s day, I send big hugs…due to inability to have kids, or losing a child, my heart goes out to you!
I sure would love to invite all of you ladies (moms or not) over…and we could sit around this table enjoying coffee and talking about decorating our homes. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today!

ReplyDeleteLovely table, Becky, and it illustrates just how simple is best! My mom died of breast cancer on Mothers Day week 29 years ago, and it still stings. But like you, I am blessed to have children and grandchildren, and have had loving support from Mom figures in my life too.
ReplyDeleteIt really would be fun to gather around that pretty table, talk about our homes, and count our blessings too! Happy Mothers Day to you.
