It’s May already? Where in the world did April go?
I love May! It’s always a relatively pleasant month here in Louisiana. The flowers are blooming and the temperatures are usually warm, but not too hot. And, for us this year, it means summer vacation is just around the corner!
So…I received an order of beautiful dried floral bundles to sell at our shop in Canton, Texas. I thought it may be helpful to share a few ways to use dried florals around your home. In place of fresh or faux flowers, dried florals are a fabulous option if you’re looking to add color and texture.
This is pink Larkspur…and is a beautiful pop of color on the farm table. Placed in an antique watering can, three bundles of larkspur make a pretty centerpiece.
Have you ever seen dried peonies? I hadn’t until these arrived. The pale pink and creamy white colors are so beautiful. And they still smell amazing! I placed all eight bundles in this vintage ice cream freezer bucket. The soft florals make a pretty contrast to the grey walls and rustic dresser. The petals almost feel like tissue paper.
And one of my favorite ways to display dried florals, is to hang them from a French crate. I have a crate hanging above our kitchen island. So, I hung a few bundles upside down from the crate. The florals look so pretty hanging over our island. And when you walk into the kitchen, they all smell so good. It’s like Springtime in the kitchen!
And I have placed some dried oregano bundles in this vintage crock, below. It can also be used as a centerpiece, or hanging from a crate.
Lastly, some pretty limelight hydrangea bundles make a great buffet centerpiece in a French market basket. Of course, what doesn’t look amazing placed in a market basket? The limelights are such an eye-catching color!
Dried florals make a great addition to any home decor…especially during spring and summer when you want to add a pretty pop of color that lasts longer than fresh flowers.
Tell me, what are your favorite dried florals?
