Fresh Pear Blossoms

I can’t believe my eyes…one week after we had REAL SNOW, our pear trees are blooming! Every winter, it takes what seems like FOREVER, for the trees to bloom. And every year, it is usually one of the first signs that spring is arriving :) Really makes my heart happy!

I clipped several branches and went to work placing them in different ironstone pitchers, crocks, and a galvanized bucket. Of course, this prompted for a total mantel makeover. I kept it simple, fresh blooms, pitchers, candles, and vintage ink bottles.

I couldn’t pass up the chance to use my French market basket to gather the branches.

I found the ironstone plates, chippy window, and grain sack at local flea markets. My husband built our farmhouse table and bench, which you can see HERE before we painted it white :)

This fabulous vintage bird cage came from a little local shop called My Front Porch…Terry has some great vintage items. The bird cage is perfect for spring time, don’t you agree?

As you can see, some of the pear blossoms weren’t open yet…so, placing them in water forced them to bloom.

And here is the same little crock full of opened blossoms:

We got the chandelier from HERE last year. It’s amazing how changing your light fixtures can totally transform a room :)

Well, I hope there are some signs of spring in your part of the world! I’d love to hear how you are decorating for spring :)

Today I’m joining Twelve-O-Eight for Inspiration Monday Party

Have a lovely week friends!

Blessings

  1. Becky your beautiful branches of blooms look heavenly in your adorable home. Love how you put everything together! We're in the 40s - nice change from zero and below of late - snow is still piled but little by little it is melting away. YAY! Even DEAD grass is better than not seeing it buried under so much snow. Will be a while before our pear trees bloom, but I can't WAIT!!!
