What’s A Barn Sale Anyway?

It has been a wonderful, crazy-busy few months! When I announced our Barn Sale in my last post, I had no idea how many people have never heard of a Barn Sale before?!?  So, I thought I’d take a minute to describe what you’ll find if you are planning to visit our Vintage Holiday Barn Sale by answering questions I’ve been asked frequently:

What’s a Barn Sale, anyway?

A Barn Sale is a sale in and around a barn :) In the last few years, Barn Sales have become very popular in other states. Did you know there are over 10 Barn Sales in operation in Tennessee? Barn Sales are usually hosted on hobby farms or ranches, some with small barns and some with huge fancy barns. Vendors & artisans set up their products to sell to the guests. You can check out other Barn Sales HERE and HERE and HERE.

What makes Buckets of Burlap Barn Sale special?

Our Barn Sale is an upscale vintage/handmade marketplace…where over 20 unique vendors will sell their quality vintage and/or handmade goods.  They have a flair for creative and eye-catching displays, for turning a small booth space into something to talk about :) You’ll stroll through and around a cozy, quaint barn, which we’ve named the “Tin Roof Barn”. It’s nestled in a pasture next to a pond.We hope you enjoy the music, the scenery, and the company as you shop our two-day event :)

Is it indoor or outdoor shopping?

Both. Vendors are set up inside and outside the barn. Outdoor vendors will be under individual canopies.

What should I wear?

Well, it is a barn sale…so wear your boots! There will be a few “photo-booth” type areas…a farm truck and a cotton wagon will be staged with hay, Christmas trees, & flowers to create a nice spot for photos :) Check the weather forecast before you come—it might be cold!

What type items will the vendors be selling?

Some of the things you’ll find are: hand-painted furniture, signs, windows, wreaths, quilts, bags, scarves, jewelry, pillows, dressers, mirrors, chocolate, floral centerpieces, Christmas decor, buckets, banners, baby items, handmade soaps & candles, granola, journals, clothing, chalk paint, vintage items, antiques, home decor, barnwood frames, reclaimed lumber signs, vintage inspired items…

Should I bring a truck?

That depends on what you are looking to purchase…are you in search of that perfect piece of furniture? Are you shopping for Christmas gifts? A little of everything?

How do I get there?

The address is 369 Stacy Lane, Stonewall, Louisiana. HERE is a link to Google maps for directions. There will be someone to guide you to a place to park.

I’m coming from out-of-town…what else can we do while in the area?

There are so many local activities around the area that weekend! Les Boutiques de Noel is held at the Bossier Civic Center.  The Natchitoches Christmas Festival opens that weekend. And if you’re interested in more antiques and vintage, our area is covered with Antique Malls and unique shops. If you need a place to stay overnight, click HERE or HERE for nearby hotels.

Are you still accepting vendors?

We might! It depends on what you sell and if you are stocked with enough products for a two-day event…send me an email at bucketsofburlap@gmail.com   If you aren’t ready for this November Barn Sale, possibly you could participate in our Spring Spectacular (times subject to change):

Can I bring my friends? Family? Church group?

Sure! We welcome anyone who enjoys vintage and handmade items and a fun, family atmosphere…especially if you are ready to kick-off some holiday shopping. We just ask that you supervise all children, and keep them with you at all times :)

I hope that I’ve answered some of your questions today :)

  1. Becky, I'm your next-door-neighbor over here in texas, but too far for me to come. I just wanted to thank you for donating to Ovarian Cancer and American Cancer Societies. My mom had two mastectomies and eventually died from ovarian cancer. Your part in ending this disease is appreciated !! I hope you have wonderful weather for your sale!!
