Oh hello my sweet friends!
Boy, do I have a treat for you today! I’d like to introduce you to Simply French Vintage
an online shop full of the most wonderful vintage country French items.
Simply French Vintage, isn’t the name so appealing? Items included in the shop are chosen for their simple, natural look. And I am so excited to showcase two of their vintage items and how I’ve used them in my home…
They sell these beautiful French Cheese Pots…which I’ve shown here holding lavender(above) and kitchen linens(below). The cheese pots are a very sturdy stoneware with small holes around the sides. The pots were used to make goat’s milk cheese.
‘Simply French Vintage is run by an English couple, David and Jane Gratton who have lived in rural France for nearly 10 years. They visit French flea markets and brocantes in search of vintage finds to reflect their simple, French country style. They also go to farms and old mills to find the original burlap grain sacks that are their specialty.'
Here, I have featured this gorgeous burlap grain sack as a bistro chair slipcover.
This original French grain sack is printed with the name of the miller, BAJARD. And the words “moulin de la croix”, meaning “mill of the cross”.
I gathered the sack and tied a length of burlap ribbon and added a hydrangea.
This grain sack is a nice large size, perfect as a table runner, also. It has a fabulous “machine worked darn” down a section of the edge.
Another way to use this vintage burlap grain sack, is as a liner in an olive bucket. Place a plant inside, and you have an instant centerpiece for the farm table.
Simply French Vintage also offers French linens, seed labels, and other vintage finds in their online shop.
I’m thrilled to add Simply French Vintage as a sponsor here on my blog.
And I know you will LOVE perusing their online shop :)
As you can see, I have found many wonderful uses around my farmhouse for the French cheese pot and burlap grain sack, and I’m sure you could too!
And I want to send a huge THANKS to David & Jane for sending these gorgeous French items for me to enjoy in my own home. I will enjoy their many uses :)
Perhaps you are interested in becoming a Buckets of Burlap sponsor?
