Hey my friends! I hope everyone is having a great week! Thank you so much for your sweet comments about my antique wooden crate!
Isn’t Spring wonderful? We are having the best weather here in the South. Gorgeous mild days, and chilly nights.
Speaking of Spring…check out my new “robins egg blue” cupboard.
I found this old chippy cupboard at a local shop called Art and Antiques (Smith Mason Legacies). They had the most beautiful architectural pieces, I wanted to bring everything home with me… but this cupboard stole my heart.
The doors have no glass, so I’m thinking about adding chicken wire or old screen. Or should I leave them alone? What would you do?
The doors look great closed, but very nice if left open, too.
The inside is made of wide wooden planks in the original stain… of course I wonder how it would look painted white??
You know I’m going to enjoy changing it up often, don’t you…
I promised Mr. Buckets I wouldn’t move the new cupboard around the house… I don’t think he believes me :)
The sweet shop owners sent me home with some “fresh cake” candles, which I burned inside my cheese pot. Oh they smell heavenly.
This week, I’m joining Furniture Feature Friday

Oh Becky, you lucky girl!!! I have been searching everywhere for a cabinet like this!! I would definitely leave it as is! I love the fact that it has no glass! And the dark wood inside is perfect, it makes the blue paint really pop!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful my friend!
Have a lovely night!!
Sincerely,
Melinda
Its gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLove love love the color on this cabinet! I have to say that I really love the openness of the doors with no glass. Can't wait to see what all you do with it!
ReplyDeleteIt is so easy to go over and vote. I already did and will go back. Love to you...
wow what a great find! LUCKY!
ReplyDeleteI love her Becky and if she were mine I'd have to go with chicken wire inserts.
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely gorgeous and I would leave it just as it is. You are a very lucky girl to have found such a beauty.
ReplyDeletethat is the prettiest cupboard ever
ReplyDeleteE' fantastico!!! Ha delle sfumature bellisime... io gli metterei la rete conigliera...l'interno bianco non è bello...fai una prova con qualche legno bianco e un foglio chiaro nel retro e poi decidi se dipingerlo o no...complimenti un bacio
ReplyDeleteMarina
If you paint it white inside your white "things" won't show up as nicely. Great find. Can't wait to see where it ends up next, wink, wink. Sorry hubby.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful colored cupboard !!...love from me....xxx..
ReplyDeleteThe voting link didn't work for me, I'll go try again. Lori
ReplyDeleteTotally fantastic cupboard, understand you fell for it!
ReplyDeleteHelle:--
LOVE that cabinet. It looks good like it is, but maybe chicken wire would work good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cabinet!!! And the perfect shade of blue. I don't know that I'd do anything to it, at least for awhile. Maybe later, add the chicken wire, but I'm sure it will be beautiful no matter what you do to it since it has so much character and presence.
ReplyDeleteCindy
That's a great cupboard. I like your idea of old screen. And the color is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue color of the cabinet, so springy! Jean
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...this is one of the prettiest pieces of furniture I have ever seen!! The color and patina are just perfect! You have styled it so beautifully too. I just love it!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a truly gorgeous piece - lucky you!
ReplyDeleteHugs, B x
Your cupboard is just beautiful! I absolutely love the old, chippy blue paint and you've styled it just right. Old screen would be a fun addition, but I think it looks pretty great as it is too. On my way to vote!
ReplyDeleteoh it's beautiful! I really like the warm wood tone inside , as apposed to white. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour new cabinet is fabulous! I could see painting the inside white, but keep the windows open. You can view your wonderful displays so much better if there is nothing where the glass was, and I love the charm of the open windows.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Hello Becky! I LOVE your cupboard! What a find! The color is gorgeous! And you have it decorated so cute (as usual :)
ReplyDeleteMaria
That cupboard is AMAZING!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks sort of like Maria's, but I vote to leave it as is, no chicken wire.
And don't you DARE paint that cupboard, the blue is divine. :-)
XO,
Anne
I LOVE this cupboard! I have such a weakness for primitive cupboards, especially when they're still with their chippy paint. I agree with Anne, leave it as it is! The openness shows off your wonderful finds inside.
ReplyDeleteI also have a "thing" for spritzer bottles.
Betsy
Becky that is one beautiful cabinet! You lucky girl you!
ReplyDeleteThat cabinet is gorgeous, especially love all of your accessorizing in there. Heading over to vote for you now!!!

Looooove the cabinet! ♥
ReplyDeleteLove that cupboard...
ReplyDeleteMy opinion, since you ask, I would leave the doors alone (no wire or screen)...especially since you will use it to "display".
It's gorgeous! I like the idea of old screen on the doors, or nothing. Love the beautiful chippy blue patina. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteBecky, I new to your blog and so loving it! Love LOVE the new cabinet. I'm typically a western/ranch, vintage cowboy kind of gal but I've fallen in love with the Farmhouse Chic vibe you've got going on! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteCarol, Lakeside, California
You are a lucky Lady. I think Chicken wire would look awesome and you could still see the things inside. I will be looking for old cupboard like that when we get moved :)
ReplyDeleteI will definately vote for you :)
Do not paint it, do not put anything in the doors.....gorgeous just as is....
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I LOVE the honest blue paint~ Makes my heart skip a beat:) Blessings and Thank You for stopping by my Facebook Page:)

Wonderful cupboard. I love the worn look of it. Absolutely beautiful
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't change a thing, it looks lovely. Great find!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing cupboard. I can see why you loved it. The doors look good with nothing, but I also love chicken wire. Maybe you could make a couple panels that you could easily switch out if you wanted to change the look. Love the display you have inside the cupboard as well.
ReplyDeleteI love that cabinet! I think the idea of adding chicken wire to the opening is a good one. What a find!
ReplyDeleteOh it's enchanting! And that blue...!
ReplyDeleteI would add chicken wire, but leave the inside exactly as it is now. Love love it!
