Valentine’s Wishes

Hey my friends!

I have so much to tell you :)

First of all, I changed around our dining room. Are you surprised?

Me either.  If you’ve been visiting my blog for a while, you probably know I get bored if I leave things alone for too long :)

valentines bedspring bottles

So, I started by rearranging the mantel for a fresh new look, and added some tulips for Valentine’s Day :)  You may notice the gray armoire is now here in the dining room.  Yes, that’s because we got a new flat screen tv in our den.  Now I store dishes and lots of other junk other stuff inside.  Do you like it gray?  I think I do…maybe we should discuss it further at a later time.

valentines dining

I used old bed springs around the vintage bottles on the mantel.

The next change I made was moving this cabinet hutch to our buffet.  I also replaced the galvanized tub with my vintage wooden chicken crate.

And remember I told you I was headed to Canton this past weekend?  Well, we had so much fun, and the weather was beautiful!  I wanted to show you a few new treasures I found…

valentines tulips

This galvanized tray came from “Old Friends”, a vendor named Cindy, located at booth #6219 in Pavillion 6000.  She had some really great vintage farmhouse stuff.  Go see Cindy when you’re in Canton!

 valentines music hearts

For a few Valentine’s crafts, I added music sheet heart cut-outs to the tray and ice cream bucket along with heart placemats.

Of course we visited Laurie Anna's Vintage Home, where I found a new grainsack.

valentines grainsacks

I tried something new with my grainsacks.  Each one is rolled and placed in my old wooden crate from Canton.  You see that rusty metal washer stand?  We found that out on Mr. Buckets Aunt’s farm. Yep, just found it out in the woods.

And this vintage wooden toolbox came from Cindy at “Old Friends”, too.

The galvanized metal house lanterns came from Laurie Anna's.  She will have her whole shoppe transformed for Spring next month! Can’t wait!

And Mr. Buckets moved our big, heavy scale over to this corner.

See that cool old rusty lantern? Came from Cindy… she had really cool stuff.

valentines candlesticks

Once again, when I saw the tulips in the store, I felt like dressing a Valentine’s table.  Usually it’s one of my least favorite holidays…but this year I feel Spring in the air! And I’m excited to add a little red & pink.

Well thanks for hanging in there for so many photos!

And let me close by saying I’d like to invite all of you who have online shops or businesses to please consider becoming a sponsor/advertiser here on Buckets of Burlap.  I’d love to partner with you! Please send me an email @ beckyc1192@yahoo.com, if you are interested in discussing details about this new adventure I’m beginning…

Thanks from the bottom of my HEART!

And Happy Valentine’s Day

  2. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... Okay, just feeling a little valentinesy after seeing your beautiful post.

I love it all! I especially love how you added the piece to your buffet. What a great idea. I also love the chicken coop thing underneath. Your grainsacks look wonderful in the crate. I love the springs on the bottles. (what a great idea that was) Love the galvanized tray on the table and the tool box with the metal handle. So great. Tell me about the music garland hanging on the old window. Was that another craft today? Love the scale with the old lantern also and love how you added the candle in it. See, I told you I love it all!

I feel like I am right there with you. Wish I was so I could eat some of that ice cream with you and Mr. Buckets and those precious kiddos.

    Love to you all.

  35. Wait a second. I mean...no, really. Will you tell me your secret of keeping a house like this with THREE KIDS?? You DID say THREE kids, right???? I have two (7 and 5) and I cannot buy ANYTHING unless it gets HUNG on a wall or put up INTO something. And even then....dust because I am exhausted from the day....and the two cats. Holy cow. Please...really....PLEASE tell me how you keep these things like this? You really eat at that table?? I am not poking fun by any means...I really want to know how you do it. I have HOUSE ENVY!!!! :)
