On my first trip to Canton Trade Days in 2008,
I found this:
My husband asked, (as all husbands do)-
"Where will we put it?"
"In our kitchen as an island, of course!" I replied.
And guess what,
he loves it almost as much as I do:)
(He's learning to shut up trust me with the decorating thing)
I store all small appliances on the shelf below,
so a burlap curtain helps to conceal the uglies.
It has the cutest chubby legs and lots of chippy paint.
Lots and lots of chippy beadboard.
This is what it looks like with some fresh flowers from the garden,
and it's all clean.
But you know, my favorite part of this island is not really the way it looks...
But what it has brought to our family.
You see, this is what's usually going on around our kitchen island...
Which is way more fun than fresh flowers.
Thank God for kitchen islands:)
I'm linking up with a creative gal,

I LOVE IT!!! You did good bringing that home from Canton! Only been there once but dying to go again.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Kitchen!
i love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh yeah.... nice! Warm, original, with a ton of character. I just love the softness the fabric brings to the wood. Really gives it a dry sink look.
ReplyDeleteGlad you shared your island on SNS!

ReplyDeleteI just adore your kitchen island!! The skirt gives it such a femine feeling, which I LOVE! But it's so true, our kitchen islands aren't just for looking pretty... they have to be functional, too, and yours is just that!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend!
