Hey my friends!
I hope your week has been wonderful!
Do you have a cleaning day? Today was cleaning day for me.
Except, I must tell you... I only conquered the kitchen.
Cleaning leads to wiping down everything, scrubbing, moving things around,
which leads to bringing in fresh flowers, and then all of a sudden...
I've got the camera out.
Please tell me this happens at your house :)
I wanted to share with you some ways to add a vintage farmhouse look
to your kitchen. I mean, if that's the "look" you're going for...
My first goal, when I'm shopping at a flea market or antique mall,
is to find inexpensive items which can be used in unique ways.
I am drawn to things that have the vintage, worn, or used characteristic.
I've incorporated an old wooden ice cream bucket, silver tea pot,
and my rustic ladder. Even the milk jug adds a farmhouse appeal.
I also like to incorporate new items with the vintage ones.
With summer here, I felt like adding a little color-
using cookbooks and a tea towel to tie it all together.
I also mix textiles, wood, and fresh flowers to add texture and layers.
So, what about you? What's "your style" in the kitchen?
I'm joining

Have a Happy, safe 4th of July!

Hey Becky! Yup - Friday's my cleaning day, too! Love the smell of my Murphy's Oil Soap after swishing it all over the old oak floors. :) Your style is just so sweet, and I've incorporated the same ideas into my old farmhouse decor. In fact, hubby bought me a vintage tea pot just like yours and I didn't know what to do with it. Now I do! Have a great weekend! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Becky!
ReplyDeleteMy style is farmhouse for sure.... living in a converted barn. A little on the more dressy side, but the farmgirl in me gravatates to the wire, rust and galvanized pieces I find when treasure searching.
I adore your style and could move right into your pictures.... tomorrow!
Always a pleasure stopping by to see what you're up to, friend!
xx
