Den Reveal

Hey my friends!
Well, the sun came out late afternoon yesterday.
As promised, here is the den reveal, with new fresh white paint.

I painted the walls in Cotton, from BEHR.
I have simple tie-slipcovers over our very old, ugly sofas.
The slipcovers can easily be removed for washing and bleaching.

The coffee table and sugar mold candle holder came from Canton.

The curtains are "Lenda" from IKEA.

One of my favorite pieces is this antique armoire.
My sweet mom passed it on to me.

The hutch holds the TV and provides storage for movies.

The old skinny doors are off of the cabinet to the right.
I removed the doors to paint the cabinet gray, and liked it better as a shelf.
I didn't paint the doors, because of their great patina.

A few architectural elements.

Here is a BEFORE photo, with the sandy, clay color.

AFTER:

  39. Sweetie you did a wonderful job on your home!
I found before I left my childhood home, a large metal oil jug that my grandfather or dad must of used in the 40's. I am only 43yrs old so getting that and having it in my home is very special. Yours reminded me of mine.
    Beautiful!

  56. This is really gorgeous, Becky! I adore everything in the space. Loving all the white! You certainly have an eye for the little details. My living room is configured like your den with the door-space-windows on the one side. I would never think to put a sofa in front of the armoire like that so close to the door but I might have to try it! Is there a walk through space between the back of the sofa and the mirrored armoire? Where your other sofa is, I have a huge fireplace so arranging this room is a logistical nightmare. Right now, my sofa is against the window and an oversized chair is on the opposite side. I'm not loving it. Anyhow, enough babbling! Love your den!
