Sweet Dreams

Sweet dreams!
Before I paint my bedroom, I wanted to show it to you.

Lots of white, with some chippy paint, too.

A little candlelight.

A little romance.

And a few buckets, you know I like buckets :)

My plan is to paint it a soft white instead of the green.
And this cherry wood table needs a coat of white, too.

Two old fence boards above the windows,
I just really like unique window treatments.
(See my old post on  chicken feeders)
I used a throw from Laurie Anna's Vintage Home -
cut it in half and added ribbon.

Did I ever tell you we love baseball?

Feedsack pillow.

And an old window, to go with the old door.

It's a cozy place.

So what do you think?

Should I paint the walls white?

Sharing with
Be sure to check out all the lovely whites :)
Blessings,
Becky C

  1. Hi Becky,

White could be lovely/ I just painted mine a "sand" color, a sort a very yellow/beige color. The white pops out! Your room BTW is fantastic!

  3. White would be great, but I also like the gray idea. I'm sure whatever you decide will look wonderful.

    Have fun painting.

  4. Such a pretty room! I love the table at the end of the bed. I would suggest the grey also, it's a great contrast and easy to live with.

  6. My daughter just painted her bedroom a soft gray and it is beautiful! I think it could be pretty in your room. And, it is a beautiful room!
I have been wanting one of those throws from Laura Annie's. I love that you used it at your windows. I also love your wonderfully full bed skirt.

  10. Becky... your bedroom is beautiful... I love the green but the white or gray(as others have mentioned) would look fab, too!

  11. Wow! It's lovely in the pale green, but a creamy buff would be beautiful.. Or if you want to go trendy, a soft grey or ivory white would rock too. Such a pretty room. Love your window treatments!

  13. It's beautiful - I don't think you ought to change a thing!!!! But I know, sometimes that is just the way we are - a change does us good from time to time. If you want white - paint it - it's just paint. It really is gorgeous though - I love the way the green makes all the white and textures pop plus I looooove green. Love your cutains and "rods" - so clever you are!

  16. You have a beautiful room. I must admit...I like it how it is. I am sure it would look lovely with white walls too...but the lil splash of color looks nice, in my opinion...but you are the one who sleeps in there...so you need to do what *you* like! :)

  17. Pretty room, I like how it is because of the contrast of the walls with everything in it. How about a brown shade if you are wanting to repaint. Really darling the way you have used things in this room!

  21. It is beautiful just as it is. But I am loving the taupey gray color right now. I guess that would mean a warm gray. Not into battle ship gray...decisions, decisions...

  22. Gorgeous room! That chippy door takes my breath away!

White would probably look lovely in that room. I think they key word is a warm white so you can take the chill out of it. It also helps to put a drop of black in the white mix to take the edge off too.

  23. It's stunning as is. I love all the white. I wish I could have white but I have too many kids that crawl on my bed with chocolate milk and dirty shoes. Loving the old door. Your window treatments are fantastic!

  24. Your room is lovely. The curtains turned out so well. I love the texture of both the material and the fence piece. I think walls in gray, as suggested, or a light tan if it matches your carpet better, or the warm white, would all look great. I like your idea of painting the darker table.

  26. Well, it's certainly beautiful already. I think it will look great whatever you choose. The table will look great painted out also.

  27. What a stunning blog you have! Your bedroom is beautiful and so creative (your kitchen too)! Thank you so very much for following my tiny blog. It's funny, I am revamping my white bedroom (cocoa walls) to add more color. My bed used to look exactly like yours... I adore the creams n sepias n neutrals so it took me a while to realize that I truly am a color crazy girl. I'm off to look at your older posts now for more inspiration

  28. Becky,
First, Welcome to Hometead Revival™. Thanks for following! I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

I'm really jumping in here with my opinion and I'm so new to your blog... But your room is lovely!! Very similar to my own bedroom in several ways - including the green walls. I think the white would be great and I would go for it, but just curious... what does your husband think? I'm getting ready to repaint our fairly dark green entry hall to a white as soon as we do a very small remodel in there. It's going to have to be repainted anyway, so I'm going WHITE and LIGHT! I can hardly wait!

  31. What a beautiful and serene bedroom you have! I LOVE the chippy piece above your bed and the picket fence curtain rods... gorgeous!! I also love the bucket of baseballs... a great touch for the hubby. :) You know I love an all white room, especially in the bedroom, but really the whole house. ;-)
    Love your style, Becky!
