A Simple Fall Table

Hi friends! How are you?

Are you having beautiful Fall weather in your area? We are delighting in the rain that has been falling the last few days :) And the leaves are just beginning to turn…ever so slowly.

Oh, Happy October! It’s October, yay! One of my very favorite months of the year :)

Today I wanted to share a simple Fall table I set this weekend for a family dinner. Homemade chicken and dumplings and Pear Bread was on the menu.

Fall Table 3

As the centerpiece, I surrounded a pumpkin with Japanese persimmons in a large ironstone bowl.  I picked the persimmons from a tree at a local restaurant. The owner graciously let me have the persimmons :) I don’t know if I’ll use them in a recipe…but they sure look pretty on a table.

I also used mini-taper candles in small zinc pots, and used flax seed to support the candles to stand. I planted small kale plants in French pitch pots, and placed pressed real leaves down the center of the table.

And that is my simple, natural table setting for a family Fall dinner…

I hope you are enjoying many family dinners this Fall, too :)

Well, thanks so much for visiting me here today!

I love the contrast of colors and textures. Lovely! I was wondering what that fruit was..Japanese persimmons? Much larger than the persimmons that are grown around here in OK!!

Becky ~ your table is absolutely beautiful for a fall dinner. I have not thought about chicken and dumplings for a while. You have set my mouth to watering. Hmmmm ~ I think that's next on the list for dinner. Cool weather, chicken and dumplings and a lovely cup of tea after ~ yum

Love your way of decorating a dinner table! I just wonder, the glass jars in front of each bowl, they are there for a purpose or "just2 for the decorating?
I´m a great fan of your blog. I live in Sweden, but twice a year we spend 2 months in our Little village hoouse in Provence, France......the best of two Worlds, that´s why my blog is called "mes petits coins de paradis"!
